ABOUT THE ROLE
Purpose
The Fleet Technician I (apprentice) performs basic maintenance, repairs, and inspections on company vehicles and equipment, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. This is an entry-level position that works under the supervision of more experienced technicians and supervisors, providing opportunities to learn and develop skills in fleet maintenance.
Responsibilities
Inspect vehicles and equipment for mechanical and safety issues.
Perform minor repairs and replacements of components under supervision, such as brakes, lights, belts, and hoses.
Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting basic mechanical, electrical, and other system malfunctions.
Use hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and other specialized tools safely and effectively.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Follow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist with vehicle and equipment washing and detailing.
Learn and apply technical knowledge related to various types of vehicles and equipment within the fleet.
