ABOUT THE ROLE
Role Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound freight arrivals and check in inbound drivers.
- Assign and coordinate receiving doors with inbound carriers and the Sysco Yard Shunter.
- Print, sort, and distribute inbound receiving paperwork.
- Work closely with receivers to ensure accurate documentation and proper door assignments.
- Complete inbound load documentation and vendor compliance forms using GoCanvas or other company systems.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Operations team in an accurate and timely manner.
- Organize and manage workflow within warehouse management and transportation systems.
- Perform data entry and generate reports for warehouse operations.
- Assist with customer service inquiries and Will Call activities.
- File, maintain, and organize receiving and operational documentation.
- Collect, secure, and store Sysco drivers' keys and bags at the end of their shifts to support the next day's operations.
- Provide coverage and support for the Slotting Co-Ordinator as required.
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to identify opportunities to improve slotting efficiency and maximize warehouse space utilization.
- Prepare and distribute operational communications as required.
- Assist with safety reporting, KPI tracking, audits, and other operational initiatives.
- Comply with Sysco's Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality, and legal requirements are met.
- Report hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to a Supervisor.
- Contribute to a safe work environment and promote safe work practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Skills / Job Requirements
Required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or transportation environment.
- Experience working with ERP, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or similar operational software.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred
- Experience with receiving, transportation, or inbound logistics operations.
- Experience with GoCanvas or similar electronic documentation systems.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse slotting and space utilization practices.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
