ABOUT THE ROLE

Compensation

$51,200 - $95,900

Purpose

The position’s purpose is to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the accounting department through financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts. Perform ongoing review investigation and correction to ensure consistency and accuracy 

  • Analyze financial information detailing assets,liabilitiesand capitalReconcile bank accounts, balance sheet, and intercompany accountsInvestigate and present solutions for any related discrepancies

  • Perform intercompany consolidation and monthly settlement of intercompany transactions

  • Monitor compliance with Sysco’s policies, procedures & accounting standards,e.g.SOX, FAMM, etc.

  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries,documentsand reports

  • Maintain fixed assets sub-ledger and reporting and ensure all fixed asset transactions aresubmittedto the fixed asset system ona timelybasis

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reporting for internal,Corporateoffice and external reporting.

  • Act as a subject matter expert for internal departments; provideaccurateandtimelyinformation and support to the Manager, Financial Analysis and Reporting and Corporate Controller 

  • Collaborate with other members of the Finance Team to achieve overall operating objectives 

  • Conduct ad hoc projects asrequired

  • Complies withSysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.

  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spillsimmediatelyto theirSupervisor.

  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Must have a minimum of 1-2 years in an accounting related role.

  • High School diplomarequired

  • Completion of Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related degree preferred. 

  • CPA designation or currently working toward an accounting designation preferred.

  • Intermediateproficiencyin Microsoft Office;proficiencyin AS400 system a plus

Objectif

  • Réaliser la consolidation interentreprises et le règlement mensuel des transactions interentreprises.

  • Assurer la conformité avec les politiques, procédures et normes comptables de Sysco, par exemple SOX, FAMM, etc.

  • Examiner, enquêter et corriger les erreurs et incohérences dans les écritures financières, documents et rapports.

  • Gérer le sous-registre des immobilisations et les rapports connexes, et veiller à ce que toutes les transactions liées aux immobilisations soient soumises dans le système en temps opportun.

  • Préparer les rapports hebdomadaires et mensuels pour les besoins internes, le bureau corporatif et les exigences de rapports externes.

  • Agir comme expert en la matière auprès des départements internes; fournir de l’information exacte et opportune et soutenir le gestionnaire, Analyse et rapports financiers, ainsi que le contrôleur corporatif.

  • Travailler de manière sécuritaire en minimisant l’impact environnemental et comprendre l’importance de signaler immédiatement tout danger, incident ou déversement environnemental à son superviseur.

  • Comprendre qu’il joue un rôle essentiel dans sa propre sécurité ainsi que dans celle de ses collègues, et être disposé à intervenir lorsqu’un danger est présent.

  • Accomplir toute autre tâche assignée.

Compétences

  • Minimum de 1 à 2 ans d’expérience dans un rôle lié à la comptabilité.

  • Diplôme d’études secondaires requis.

  • Diplôme universitaire en administration des affaires, finances ou domaine connexe (atout).

  • Titre CPA ou progression vers un titre comptable (atout).

  • Maîtrise intermédiaire de Microsoft Office; connaissance du système AS400 un atout.
