ABOUT THE ROLE

$129,600.00 - $179,600.00
Purpose
The Senior Product Owner is an experienced delivery leader within the Business Intelligence Center (BIC), responsible for owning the delivery and continuous improvement of complex data and analytics products across multiple Product-Oriented Delivery (POD) teams.
This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, translating product strategy into executable work, managing dependencies, and ensuring consistent value delivery at scale. The Senior Product Owner partners closely with Product Management, Architecture, and business stakeholders, while mentoring Product Owners and functional team members to strengthen product delivery capability across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Product Delivery & Backlog Ownership
- Own end-to-end delivery for complex data and analytics products spanning multiple PODs or domains.
- Translate product vision and roadmap into well-defined epics, features, and user stories.
- Prioritize and refine backlogs to maximize business value, balancing delivery, risk, and technical dependencies.
- Define and uphold clear acceptance criteria and quality standards across teams.
Agile Execution & PI Planning Leadership
- Lead and support PI Planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and system demos.
- Proactively manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and delivery constraints.
- Ensure alignment between team execution and program-level objectives.
- Drive consistent delivery practices across PODs.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Engagement
- Act as a primary point of contact for senior business stakeholders for owned products.
- Partner closely with Solution Architects, Domain Architects, Data Engineers, and Translators to ensure solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned to standards.
- Communicate progress, trade-offs, and outcomes clearly to leadership and delivery partners.
Value Management & Data Maturity
- Monitor product adoption, usage, and outcomes to inform prioritization and refinement.
- Ensure analytics products are governed, trusted, and aligned with enterprise data standards.
- Collaborate with Data Stewards to support data quality, lineage, and catalog completeness.
- Drive continuous enhancement of analytics usability and self-service capabilities.
Mentorship & Capability Building
- Mentor Product Owners, Functional Analysts, and Business Analysts in backlog management, story quality, and Agile practices.
- Provide thought leadership on delivery patterns, ways of working, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to Communities of Practice to strengthen product delivery maturity across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5–8+ years of experience in Product Owner, Business Analyst, or equivalent delivery roles within Data & Analytics.
- 3+ years operating as a Product Owner in Agile/SAFe environments, supporting PI planning and multi-team delivery.
- Strong understanding of BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) and data platforms (BigQuery).
- Proficiency with Jira and Agile planning tools.
- Working knowledge of SQL and data concepts.
- Proven ability to influence without authority and manage complex stakeholder environments.
- SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager certification is a strong plus.
- English required. Bilingual (English/French or English/Spanish) a plus
