ABOUT THE ROLE
Purpose
The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering food and restaurant supplies to customers using a commercial vehicle (straight truck). This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Operate a commercial vehicle (straight truck) safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws, company policies, and established delivery routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in proper working order.
- Product Delivery:
- Deliver food products to customers accurately and on time, ensuring product integrity and maintaining proper temperature control.
- Load and unload product safely and efficiently, utilizing a two-wheeled dolly to maneuver heavy items.
- Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.
- Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service to all customers, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Address any customer concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date delivery records, including invoices and driver logs.
Skills
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) frequently.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
Certifications
Education
High school diploma or GED
Experience
2+ years of experience
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of heavy objects (up to 75 lbs).
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, and reach frequently.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
