ABOUT THE ROLE
Purpose
This position is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs within the organization. This role focuses on assisting with audits, managing EHS documentation, tracking compliance, and ensuring the effective execution of safety and environmental policies. The Coordinator works closely with EHS teams and other departments to maintain a safe working environment and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support EHS audits, inspections, and assessments to identify safety hazards, environmental risks, and compliance gaps.
- Maintain and update EHS records and documentation, ensuring accurate tracking of incidents, safety reports, and regulatory compliance.
- Help coordinate employee training on safety procedures, regulations, and environmental practices.
- Assist in monitoring the effectiveness of EHS programs and suggest improvements based on audit findings and performance data.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure the integration of EHS principles into day-to-day operations.
- Assist in preparing reports on EHS performance, incidents, and compliance for management review.
- Help with the preparation and submission of required reports to regulatory agencies, ensuring timely compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Track and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions from audits and inspections.
- Support the EHS team in managing safety and environmental risks, including the development of preventive measures and safety protocols.
Skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing records and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and data management.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate safety-related information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and training materials.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Analytical skills to assist with safety audits and risk assessments.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Certifications
Education
Associate’s degree in related discipline or an additional 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
