ABOUT THE ROLE
Rate: $26.00 per hour
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Job Summary
The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of customer orders according to established routes and schedules while ensuring a high level of customer service. This role requires adherence to all company policies, safety standards, and standard operating procedures, including Sysco’s Food Safety Program. The Delivery Driver maintains accurate trip documentation, handles products safely, and performs physically demanding work including repetitive lifting. The position requires a safety-focused, reliable individual who works collaboratively with team members and transportation leadership while representing the company professionally at customer locations.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver meat and seafood products within Edmonton Region.
- Deliveries outside of Edmonton, i.e. Calgary, Jasper, etc., may be required.
- Ensure that customer orders are delivered within the specified timelines and quality of product is maintained.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer Inquiries
- Perform pre inspection as required
- Validate counts on truck
- Complete run sheets
- Perform daily truck temperature checks
- Complete Daily hour logs
- Warehouse duties as required
- Maintain compliance with MTO regulations
- Comply with safety rules and regulations; adhere to all company health and safety policies
- Comply with all food safety and HACCP regulations
- All other duties as assigned.
Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role
- Carrying out duties in a safe manner as instructed through safety training
- Participating in various meetings/groups (shift, departmental, company and safety)
- Performing other duties as assigned by Warehouse manager and/or Supervisors.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 License
- Clean Drivers Abstract
- Ability to read, comprehend and carryout instructions in English
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (English fluent)
- Previous customer service experience
- Good knowledge of Edmonton and Calgary areas
- Previous delivery experience within the food industry is an asset
- Must be able to work independently and possess solid organizational skills
- Flexibility with work schedule:highway travel required
- Able to work in a cold environment
- Ability to do heavy lifting up to 75 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to problem solve
- Basic computer knowledge/ general office equipment use
- Use of scanners / inventory system
