ABOUT THE ROLE
Pay Rate: $20.76/hour
Purpose
The General Labour provides packaging support to the production team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This role handles communication, scheduling, documentation, and other tasks that support the production process.
Responsibilities
- Various assigned heavy labour duties throughout Operations and Warehouse as needed.
- Deboxing product as per production requirements.
- Miscellaneous movement of boxes / bins / product
- Building of boxes / packaging
- Assist as directed in start-up operations
- Maintain proper cleaning and sanitizing of miscellaneous parts / equipment prior to end of shift shut down
- Ensure that any equipment being used is safe to operate at all times
- Maintain efficiencies and proper documentation as required.
- Housekeeping – maintain overall cleanliness of plant environment
- Comply with all safety rules and adherence to all Company Health and Safety policies, OHSA. Achieve if required the necessary certifications for a pallet jack /walkie operator.
- Comply with all Food Safety and HACCP regulations.
- Participate in inventory counts as required.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Basic Math skills
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to do heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a cooler/freezer environment
- Fluent in English language both oral and written
