ABOUT THE ROLE
Purpose
The Sales Consultant Trainee (SC-T) is an entry-level sales position focused on developing foundational sales skills and building a customer base within an assigned territory. The SC-T works closely with experienced Sales Consultants and other team members to learn Sysco's sales processes, product offerings, and customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Prospect for new business opportunities and generate leads.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Present Sysco's products and services to customers, addressing their needs and providing solutions.
- Prepare sales proposals and presentations.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts within established guidelines.
- Process customer orders and ensure accurate and timely delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer issues.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, credit, marketing) to support customer needs.
- Maintain accurate sales records and reports using CRM and other sales tools.
- Participate in sales meetings, training programs, and other development activities.

- Ability to build rapport and establish customer relationships.
- Basic sales and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Certifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in related discipline or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree

Physical Demands
Requires frequent driving, standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs).
