The Transportation Clerk's role is to ensureaccurateandtimelycommunication of delivery issues or concerns by communicating with the Sales Department, DeliveryColleagues and Contractors. This is a permanent, full time salaried position with a standard of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Address the questions and concerns of Drivers and Sales Representatives; work closely with Transportation Manager and Supervisors to provide resolution.

• Retrieve telephone calls andassistCustomer Service Representative or Sales Representative with dailyroutesconcerns (late departures, deliveries, time windows, driver complaints, forecasted arrival times, customer location, hours of operation etc.).

• Ensureaccurateon-time reporting for department and corporate key metrics.

• Compile route status information and communicate daily via various electronic means. 

• Work closely with Transportation Manager or Supervisor to review situations that have a potential impact on department cost or service levels.

• Manage required training documents for various internal and external audit requirements.  

• Communicate and log driver challenges and concerns to assigned Transportation Supervisor for resolution.

• Assists Supervisors with organizing the recovery effects due to customer service failures. 

• Preform clerical Payroll related activities.

• Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spillsimmediatelyto theirSupervisor.

• Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues andiswilling to speak out when hazards are present.

• Complies withSysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.

• Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spillsimmediatelyto theirSupervisor.

• Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues andiswilling to speak out when hazards are present.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements: 

• Minimum one (1) year of clerical and administrative experience

• High School Diploma Required

• Previousexperience in the transportation industry is preferred.  

• Experience with MOT recordkeeping,HOS regulationsishelpful.

Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)

Salary Range:
$50,200.00 - $60,500.00
